This cake was for my Grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary, the Golden Anniversary. I really enjoyed working on this cake because I got to do a bit more pipe work than I usually get to do, and I was able to design it for my grandparents. This is a 4- tiered cake with each tier consisting of 2 layers. This cake was fairly small for a 4 tier cake with the tiers being 4", 6", 8", and 10" in size. It served approx. 100.

This cake was a french vanilla cake with homemade buttercream icing and a marshmallow fondant plaque with a "K" (for their last name). The gold was handpainted using luster dust.

  1. What are your tricks when it comes to working on tiered cakes and marshmallow fondant? I've never even heard of marshmallow fondant.
